Painter Luong Xuan Doan was elected as new President of Vietnam Fine Arts Association (VFAA) at its ninth National Congress for 2019-2024 tenure which convened in Hanoi on December 17.
He asked the association to review its achievements as well as analyse its limitations and shortcomings over the past tenure to draw experience and develop appropriate tasks and solutions in the coming tenure.
The VFAA’s members should also uphold their responsibilities to develop the country’s fine arts, increasing its position in not only the region but also the world, added the Politburo member.
He also noted that the association needs to further improve the quality of professional activities and create favourable conditions for its members to make many art works with high ideological and artistic values.
Politburo member Thuong emphasised the strong investment in applied arts, traditional craft arts and modern designs, contributing to promoting the development of national fine arts.
