Introduction.
Dao Chau Hai is one of Vietnam's leading sculptors after the Doi Moi period. He achieved certain accomplishments in different materials. For many years, he has focused on researching and composing a modern sculpture material that is less familiar with Vietnamese sculpture traditions: metal sculpture. He is a pioneer and has many innovations in metal sculpture, inspiring a whole generation of young artists. In his opinion, iron and steel sculpture has advantages that other materials do not.
Dao Chau Hai is a taciturn man with a simple soul behind his rugged look. Most of his works possess minimalism in shaping but contain humane messages. He is one of the pioneering artists in urban sculpture and community sculpture. His creativity is a dedication to Vietnamese modern art and contemporary Vietnamese sculpture.
